Default Dead Battery and Then the Check Engine Light

My battery went dead because I left the parking lights on overnight.

Aftering recharging the battery, the CHECK ENGINE light is now on.

Any connection between the two occurrences?

Thanks.

My vette did the same thing. The check engine light went off the same day after the 3rd or 4th start. I got the message on the dic the next several times I cranked the car. The message just went away after that.
