Don't understand your question. The top folds itself when you drop it & you can leave it down for long periods of time. I'm on my 3rd roadster and have never had any trouble with the tops & I keep the cars about 6 years each.

this is going to definitely be a personal opinion issue. i don't leave my top folded for long period of time for one reason you end up with lines that look shiny from the dirt on the top. just my .02

On reread, I wonder If I understand your question. If you're asking if the top should be stored in the down position to keep it in like new condition, I say NO. Keep it up. Hummmm, is this a male thing? ;)

keep the top up and put a car cover on it. This way it will be protected. I have had my car over 3 years now and the top looks brand new. :yesnod:
