Default Help to clean HVAC

I found a mouse nest in blower which was packed with nest material but no mouse. I cleaned out blower but BAD oder persist. My thoughts are the mouse may have moved into the HVAC system and died. My question is how major a job is it to get into HVAC system. Thanks any advice welcome.

First try spraying some Lysol disinfectant into the blower cavity, and then into the cowl fresh air inlet screen. Taking everything apart in the ducting is major work.

Im laughing cause I had this issue numerous times and I feel for you!!

First
Remove the blower motor:

Remove the nest:

Mouse OPTIONAL!

Little bastard didnt like 1050 rpm!! FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vacuum out the HVAC chamber thru the opening where the blower was removed. You can reach in the blower motor opening and feel inside the HVAC cavity. Make sure all the trash and mouse is out of the cavity. After it is clean, wipe it out with a dissinfectant cleaner. The MOUSE cant get past the evaporator coil so, is you still smell dead mouse, hes somewhere else.

Make sure that the air intake area under the windshield cowl is mouse free!!

What does the outlet air smell like? Dead mouse or mouse pee?????

Hope this helps.
