Usually, xxx means that the battery in the sensor is dying. You can break apart the TPMS and replace the battery, or buy a new one. Fairly expensive on a 99, if that is what you have (looking at your profile). I saw some rebuilt ones for sale on the C5 parts for sale forum last week.

Here is the post that you need to change the batteries. It isnt all that difficult if you can solder.

Thanks to all. I have repaired my Climate control so this should't be any harder. Since I don't have a tire machine it will be a replace and then repair for then next replacement. I see there is quite a few of these things on Ebay ranging from $20 to $120. What do I need to look for to at least make sure it is compatable with my 99 FRC

WELL,,, You will find TWO different looking sensors. The newer style sensors are almost always less expensive!!
This is the sensor that you need and the ONLY one that will work with your Remote Function Transmitter:

Yours will be the one on the RIGHT in this picture, Notice the difference in the seal used. Yours uses an O ring:

This sensor is a newer version that WILL NOT WORK in your RFA System!!!

Is there a way to change the battery in the newer TPMS?

Dale002 - No, I;m getting ready to buy new tires - I will replace my sensors with new ones -- figured I'd keep the old ones and change the batteries out....

That's the best way, especially if they are a few years old.
