Default Removing A.I.R. pump, what codes to tune out with hptuners?

I'm changing the exhaust as I'm fully polishing the engine in my '01z.

The ugly air system is not in the game plan. I bought the block off plates for the mainifolds and will remove all air hardware.

I have hptuners, what codes will I need to turn off, and is there anything else I should consider?

Thanks.

^that sounds good. So basically turn up the temp to something impossible so it never comes on.

One thing though. I'm removing the pump since it would just be dead weight and clutter. With it unplugged I'm worried about a code.

Default Thanks for all the help fellas!

That looks good.

Keep the SES light enabled and turn any code in regards to a.i.r. to 3.

1)Less visual clutter
2)More access for changing sparkplugs in the future
3)Save 5-6 pounds of weight
4)It's a simple project and fun to do...

you can also remove the T under the Batt. for the vac, some years do not run vac. to the AIR pump

Hinson's codes are also referring to the relays down in that area

AIR tubes are a pita for plug and/or LT swaps

Josh, keep us updated on the polishing progress, the previous motor was insane

^ Thanks for the tip.

The engine's about 60% done. Buying a house and my 4 month old son are taking away some of my "car time"

I need to start taking pictures!

I agree with all except #4. Getting those bolts behind the block are not too much fun.

all you need to do is loosen that one 13mm bolt, the AIR tube has a Notch in it to slide out

^ Correct.

Loosened the bolt (which isn't bad if you have the proper tool- I had a 13mm stubby wrench) and it slips right off.

Everything is out except for dropping the panel below the bumper and getting the air pump itself and the rubber hose running between it and the engine bay.

Yep, but getting to that 13mm bolt is a challenge. At least it was for me. Of course, pulling of the intake manifold would make it much easier.

I can't even see that bolt. Drivers side, passengers side or is it in the middle somewhere?

Don't you also have to set something so the AIR test shows complete?

I do have a question. What is the A.I.R. systems purpose? They couldn't have just put it in there for absolutely no reason.

Call me dumb if you want. Haha.

The readiness will still reset. You're just setting it to not report an error.
