Sure, if you do it the wrong way.

I'm using these:

Stock wheel studs are prefectly fine (and can be too LONG in some cases)

Cool product, never seen that setup before...

What will that set you back per side?

I bought them from ebay for $54 and then replaced the crappy wheel studs that came with them.

yes, use a spacer so the rear wheel is more flush with the outside of the wheel well.

Here a pic.. If I were to do it again I would have gone a little thicker on the rear spacer. Since I already have longer studs installed all the way around it would have been easy to do.

Question, when you guys say "rides better" can you explain?
Better cornering due to bigger tire/rim or more big car ride?

Thanks
I ran them on my 2001 for a winter. I had to use 1/8" spacers on the rear to prevent rubbing. I was okay except I took a March trip to Florida and snapped a lug as I was retorquing the wheels in a motel parking lot. Had to stop enroute and have a lug replaced as I didn't trust running highway speeds on just 4. I fear the extra stress on the rear lugs from the spacers led to the failed lug and since I no longer trusted the C6 wheels on there I sold them and replaced them with C5 wheels.

From the new guy on the block, I have a '03 Z06 - does that make a difference on the need for spacers. From what I read here I'm leaning with not going with C6 wheels. I'm headed out to replace wheels on Monday :-) .

One wheel, out of round need new rubber so have to replace wheel first. Can not do one yuk! don't like idea of re-chrome so will replace all four. don't plan on replacing with C5 Z06, call me carzy but I like the 5 spoke or C6 Z06 until all of this spacer talk at least. Now leaning toward C5 Chrome 2000 (5 spoke). comments ?

Update - Still need a C6 5 spoke 19" polished rear rim...I did the right rear: Pfadt Racing eurothane bushings - that was a lot of work!!!!!!!!, Adjustable Phadt Racing lower ball joint - used an energy suspension eurothane dust boot since the racing ones are open tops, new tie rod end, new wheel bearing assembly, Z06 vented slotted rotor, brakes and went with the Johnny O'Connel shocks, anti-sway bars, and end links kit.

I mounted the C6 rear wheel and it sits in about 18-24mm too far to look nice. No rubbing though. I like how well the 19" diameter wheel fills the wheel well area better than the 18 in C5 wheel. I like the look and am going to keep it. Need to find a replacement rear wheel and order some the 20mm thick 4085704 spacers w/studs. The 25mm 5085704 will work too but bring the wheel out right to the inner edge of the rear fender lip. My fronts sit in a little so I feel the 20mm will look better with my car.

Extended thread lug nuts will make up for a 1/4" spacer thickness by adding an additional .30" of useful thread engagement.

I'm running C6 wheels, with 1/4" spacers on the rears, using Gorilla P/N 68137L extended thread lug nuts. Here's a link to the lug nuts:

I just put C6 wheels on my C5. I went from 275/40/R18 to a 295/30/R19.I could get my fingers behind and between the innerwheel well but could not wingle them. I ordered 3/8 spacers and 1/2" longer studs from Doug Rippie Motorsports. Super people and extra High Quality parts and practices.

I am now trying to figure out about relearning the TPMS for C5 DIC from C6 TPMS. Will the magnet work or do I need to go to a shop Or should I have C5 TPMS installed?

You have to have C5 TPMS.

Not what I wanted to hear but thanks for the info. The guy I bought the wheels from has the ATEQ VT10 Universal Trigger Tool for TPMS. He was going to sell it to me when I bought the wheels. Maybe I will buy it from him or he will be nice and I will just ask if we can program in his shop. He kinda didnt want to sell it since it is universal and I didnt really want to buy it with out knowing if I could use a magnet.

Just to be clear, you have to have the C5 sensors and you can program them with a magnet. C6 sensors won't work with the C5 receiver. You don't need any tool to program the C5 sensors other than the magnet.

Loud and clear still not what I wanted to hear. Will I just be riding around with the low tire pressure warning light on? I have not put the wheels on yet. I was going to unmount the old worn out run flats from the OEM C5 wheels and try to sell them. I could switch TPMS then but I really do not want to unmount and remount The C6 wheels but at least I have an option.

You can press reset each time you start the car to clear the warning, and it can't be programmed out of the 98. You'll need pre 2001 sensors on the wheels, or press reset to clear the message.

changing tire and wheel setups with pressure sensors is an extra cost.. If you want all the features of the car to work its one of the things you have to do.

Yeah I understand. This is the deal I got so y'all tell me? 4 C6 OEM wheels, mounted with 4 98% tread life Yokahama Advan Neova AD08 and new C6 TPMS,plus 2 unmounted 95% tread life Michellen PS2. $1000. If I can sell my C5 shiney thin spoke wheels with out the TPSM so I can mount them in the C6 wheels and sell the C6 TPMS get 4 more OEM C6 wheels and 4 C5 TPMS and 2 Mich PS2 fronts I got 2 sets of BA wheels and tires IMO.

Update: I have been driving around with out the spacers while waiting for them to come in. Every time I looked at the car I was like ...well... they do sit in pretty far but still looks good. Well, the spacers came in today. I ordered the 20mm spacers H&R 4085704. The only negative I can see is I had to trim the blank part of the lugs off and one thread so the stud would not protrude too far and hit the wheel. The match is perfect with the front comparing how deep the fronts sit inside the fender vs the rear. Now when I look at the car I can't quit looking at the car and how good the offset matches up!
