Default Low Oil Level warning

I'm getting this warning even though oil is full, pressure at idle with stock/original sensor is about 30-35lbs.

03 with 25,500 on clock. I can reset the warning but it comes back.

Is this related to the oil sensor? or does that just deal with pressure?

Any and all replies appreciated.

This would be related to the "oil level" sensor, which is located as below. It's basically a switch that closes when the oil level is full.

Thanks, would you suggest check ground first or just replace?

I always suggest troubleshooting first. Verify the wiring is good first, and then replace the sensor with confidence.

How long has it been doing this? Mine done this for several days after I parked nose down on a hill, it would't reset. I was just about to troubleshoot and fix it but it started working on its own. I think I lived with it about a week before the code went away. B\G

It could be the wiring....
When i went to put headers on my '01 I found that the factory original wiring loom had melted and the wires were brittle from heat because of the position of the loom....

I rewired and it was good to go....

Pulled the car from storage on Thursday, drove it about 30 miles shut it off for about 20 minutes and the warning greeted me when I started it up again. No nose down parking at all. I have been resetting it on the DIC in the hopes it will work out.

I did get the car up as best I could in garage today and got as far under as my body would let me but it wasn't far enough. I need to get it on a lift.

As mentioned above checking the wiring is a good idea although the sensor is a known common issue.

Finally got it up on a lift today. Wire was burned at the heat shield. Funny it took almost 7 years and 25k for it to happen.
Thanks for the help folks.

Can the oil level sensor be removed without removing the oil pan? I just changed my oil and added 7qts of oil to see if this would stop the low oil level message and it didn't. It must be a bad sensor or wiring so I will checking both
