Default Headlight motor noise

I turned on the headlights the other night and the left headlight door did not open, I turned the switch off and back on and both lights came up and worked. Now when I turn off the lights the left motor keeps running and make a buzzing noise for 15 seconds or so after the door closes. I have tried turning the lights on and off several times but I still get that noise. I manually operated the motor thinking it might just be out of sync but that did not work either. Any Ideas?

The headlight motor gear is stripped. This is a very common problem with the C5. Mine started doing it a couple of weeks ago. Someone sells a brass gear that is supposed to last much longer than the plastic ones. I am sure someone will chime in with a vendor for it. I need to order one myself now.
