Default Differential leak 2004

Have a leak on differential around the side cover drivers side had someone on the forum send me a step by step fix to the problem believe its the little o-ring that allowing it to leak.Would that member send the step by step fix it to me again accidentally deleted it. Read on this forum where the valve gets stuck could cause this and also could I have to much oil in differential car has 8500 original miles and have already replaced passenger side leak on a warranty job. Seems like Gm would warranty this since it seems to be a good sized problem. Joe Buck,Sr.

Here is a link for a write-up by another forum member. If you want to find threads with pictures, do a search (upper right corner of the screen) for differential repair.

I just did mine (driver side cover leak) and its not hard at all, just time consuming. The second link is the best one because it show you where to put the scealant. The first one will tell to not put scealant in the o-ring groove but you need too.The owner of http://rkt56.com/ (ragtopws6 on this board) built diff all the time and explain to me that scealant need to be applied in the o-ring groove.
