upgrading my drive train, but have some questions about the stock propshaft
So I am finishing my single turbo build, but I want to upgrade some things. I already got the rpm level V transmission, and a twin disc clutch, but want to do some things to avoid future problems. I am going to buy the upgraded transmission mount and engine mounts to help with hop a little, and I already have the ecs brace on its way, but was thinking about the stock propshaft. I dont really drag my car, but want to change whatever I can to help keep things in working order.
How strong is the stock propshaft? I am probably going to buy rpm transmissions poly couplers for the propshaft just to replace.
I dont want to spend a bunch of money on a carbon shaft, but I would consider rpm transmissions shaft if its just bolt in.
How difficult is it to pull the shaft out and replace the couplers?
Any information about the stock shaft and what to upgrade inside the torque tube would be appreciated.

Btw, you'll need a pair of BIG snapring pliers to pull the prop shaft out for inspection or to replace the couplers. Check your bearings too, although they tend to hold up real well.

Depending on your driving style, intended usage, and budget, you may want to consider a CF shaft, although as I say, the aluminum stockers can hold up real well. Since you're kind of at a point where it could go either way, I'd give Rodney a call at RPM and get his recommendations. I'd definitely recommend the poly couplers they offer though.
The insane HP I was referring to would be in the 900/1000 HP range or more.
