Where to strap vette on open trailer?
I have read some input on the above issue, but most responses were for an enclosed trailer. My trailer strap attachment points are on the sides of the trailer. None on the floor. Is it wise to put four 2x12 or two long boards on the floor of the trailer to raise the car enough to locate strapping points on the car? Some say to put straps through the wheel spokes, but that does not sound good to me. Others say to attach to the frame. Others say buy hooks that fit into the hockey puck holes. What do you guys like to do to tie down the car? Straps or chains?

I use four J hooks in the hockey puck holes, cross the straps both front and back, and I set the parking brake with the tranny in neutral.
Then I tow at any speed I like without worry, at least until I get to Redding where you have a large bald headed CHP officer who likes to give tickets to red Corvettes even if there on a trailer.

For towing I use t-hooks and Straps from Mac. The t-hooks go directly into the frame of the vette. I cross the front straps and the rear straps. When tight the car is pretty secure.
Here are some pictures of my old setup. My new straps have the t-hook as part of the strap, but same concept. Note the t-hooks have a link which I found to be better than the t-hook on its own. Both will work, but the extra link makes it easier.

Thanks guys,
I will get a set of t hooks today. When crossing the straps in the front, do the straps clear the valance?

T Hooks are the way to go. The so called hockey puck slots are actually shipping slots the factory put into the frame so the cars could be shipped. If you use them you are using the same method the factory uses. It also has the benefit of keeping the car from moving around as much. The tie downs that go to the wheels let the car move around too much. The tie downs that go to the suspension members can damage the suspension.

I prefer using straps through the wheels, this still allows full suspension travel. where as if you use the hooks into the puck slots then when the suspension compresses over a bump and it rebounds hard it will put a lot of stress on those puck locations and the retaining device.

Next time you come through, give me a shout... I live about 1.5 miles from the freeway between Redding and Anderson.
