Default Fast 102 to port or not to port?

Looking for feedback. Does it make sense to port a fast 102 or are the gains not worth the extra $. 2003 Z06 procharger DS1, headers, cam, mild porting of heads.

I had mine ported when I bought it. There is a great thread by tony mamo on ls1tech about porting 102's and how much material needs to removed on them. Casting pieces left inside, flow improvements that are done etc.

I would do it on a max effort build maybe. Not sure I would do it on a mild setup though. You can just drop a pully size and have much better results. If you have the extra cash, go for it, but there would be other things I'd spend the money on first.

How much boost are you running?

Hey Tony,

At what power level the 90mm TB becomes a restriction on your Mamofied FAST 102?

Immediately.....LOL

Even at 450 RWHP the 102 TB is worth 3-5 HP.....its just a matter of how much you value those few extra ponies.

At 550+ to the tire its worth more....5-6 HP.

Even though on paper the 90 moves enough air, the engine seems to respond to the larger TB.

Hope things are going well Christian!

Regards,
Tony

Your leaving power on the table if you dont port it.....

Hey Tony what do you think the difference is between a 95 and 102 tb on a big cubed engine with ported FAST LS7 style intake? Trying to decide if I want to swap the 95 out and pop on the FAST 102 sitting here instead of returning it for credit...LOL
