Default What causes squeaking F45 shocks?

I have a squeak coming from my rear suspension. I think that it is my F45 adjustable shocks because if I turn the adjuster from touring to competition the squeak goes away. I also lubed my sway bar busings, which didn't cure the problem.

The shock have 41K miles on them, no leaks and seem to work fine.

What causes the squeak? If I lube the shock shaft, Will that eliminate the squeak?

I tried everything and mine still made noise, so I just replaced them with C6 Z06 shocks and did C6Z sways at the same time.

I had a bad annoying chirp/squeak coming from the front-end. Wasn't the links or the bushings. Purchased the new C6 Z06 shocks from GM Parts House and had the dealer install them. Squeak is gone, and the car rides and handles 200% better than it did with the F45 shocks. Only had 33,500 on the F45's and they were SHOT. Dealer also wiped out the option in the BCM for the F45 so no speed limiter either. $375 total labor to install shocks, re-program BCM and 4 wheel alignment. Even if you don't have any squeaks, this upgrade is TOTALLY WORTH IT!! I was going to get the new sway bars too, but the car handles so good just from doing the shocks, I think I'll hold off.
