Default Harland Sharp roller rockers

Anybody have any experience using Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rocker arms, good or bad?

No experience, but they look to be heavier over the nose than other rockers. They have caused some valve train instability issues as a result on more than a few cars.

I cracked a few, and I know of a few cars who also had problems. We all changed them out to yella terra. This may not be typical, we race/drive our cars pretty hard

Thanks for the feedback, I don't lean on my car too hard but always thinking of ways to upgrade. I had an opportunity to buy some lightly used ones for about half price but maybe I'll take a pass on them.

I put some on the TF heads I had on my last car. I dropped a pair of them and nicked the bottom of one. HS will sell individual rocker arms to people like me who have butter-fingers.

These will eventually become "desk art"

Unless you have heads with bronze guides I'd stick with the stock rockers.
BTW, I have the Harland Sharp rockers on my street driven blown H/C Corvette and I like them but again it's only because of the bronze wall guides.

+1 I had the same negative experience with the Harland Sharp, which led me to the Yella Terra Ultralites - been very happy ever since and I run them very hard with a .624 lift cam. Save your money and get the Yella Terra's.

I have the HS rockers on my Trickflow heads. I've checked the wear pattern a couple of times, and it's been perfect. OTOH, it's a very low mile, and usually easy driven car. I got mine free from TEA, when I had to remove my new heads for a free valve replacement. (Lucky Me!) The second time doing H/C is pretty easy. Wish I could say the same about my clutch install.

Not sure what mods you have done to your car but this mod is going to net very little if any horsepower increase. But I have them on my car. Trick flow 225s and bronze guides. People have had trouble with them and people have had trouble with yellow terra's. I kind of think some of peoples problem with either brand are installation.

Possibly.....Having said that, I was looking into a set of the H-S rockers a couple of years ago, when the "spitting needle bearing" scare was in full swing. I spoke with an H-S tech rep, and I don't exactly remember his reasons, but he didn't recommend their rockers for street usage.

I currently have a completely stock LS1. But I am always looking for a "deal" even if I'm not quite ready for the item. I didn't know anything about Harland Sharp other than the name and that they have been around for a while. I haven't read anything here to make me think I need to jump on the set I was looking at. Thanks for the feedback.

If that's the case, you may want to do what I did, and that was to install the CompCams upgraded trunnions in your OE rockers.
