Default Stabil

I just filled my tank up for the winter.
Forgot to put Stabil in first. Can you put Stabil on top of a full tank?
Also do you take your battery out and put it on a charge or leave it in the car on a charger?

You can put it in after, just run car for a while to circulate. I use a c-tek charger leave the battery in and i leave the charger on all winter..

Make sure you are using a float charger. like the C-Tek or Battery Tender. Habor Freight also sells an inexpensive one. It is not as sophisticated as the others, but it gets the job done. You can't leave a regular battery charger on the car all the time.

I bought the float from harbor freight. $15. A very reputable corvette mechanic turned me on to it. I was just curious as some people remove there battery from the car. Im keeping mine in the car .

I live in a colder environment so I take the battery out of the car and put it in my house. I check the condition of the battery from time to time and put a charge on as needed. It only takes me about 2 minutes to put it back in the car when I need it.

Cold! It's freezing in Ohio as we speak. Anyway I thought someone said the c5s have issues if you remove the battery. Maybe they meant issues if the battery runs low on charge.

Default Leave battery or remove?

Cold weather storage. Leave the battery in the car or take it in the house. I will put a tender on it.

Leave it in. I just don't like disconnecting the battery in these cars. Call it being superstitious......lol.

FYI, Ctek chargers have a setting that compensates for cold if required.

This might be a dumb question, but how would it get to the pass.side tank if both tanks are full?

Since the tank is already full I dont believe there are to many options. Its better to put the stabil in and run the car, than to not put it in at all

I just put 7oz of stabil in on top of a full tank of 93 sunoco. Ran car for 5 minutes as instructions said. Put float charger on. It is 20 degrees out and this is all I'm doing this winter. I got a late start since I just purchased the car. I have come to the conclusion that starting regularly is not good. This car will sit for 3 months as is. If anyone else has any easy winter things for this year please fill me in.

If you read the directions, I'm fairly sure your supposed to fill the car up full of gas first then add the StaBil then let the car idle for 10-15 minutes to circulate.

That might be true for cars with just one fuel tank, but with the duel tank vettes I don't think running it a few min. will get the stabil to the pass. side tank. I could be wrong here,if so someone please correct me.

That sounds fine for 3 months storage, you need not worry. Now if you said three years, that would be different.

Dont forget to air up them tires.
