Although GM has told me that the cylinder heads are the same I have found that the 2001 and 2002 are different part numbers obviously. The only difference visible to the eye is the cheaper price of the 2002 castings...

Sorry, that's incorrect. The first few sets did come with valves and springs.. at the present time they are bare like the 2002's...
