Default 4L60E experts, tranny fluid drip?

Can anyone tell me if fluid should drip from around the TCC solenoid when I removed the pan to do a filter change? If not could it be the o-ring needs to be changed? Thanks in advance.

I don't see how it would do any harm, since it's inside the pan. Are you having any issues with T/C lockup or unlock?

Have slip (4th gear) code 1870 at times. Changed the VB and at times get slip. When I did the VB fluid kept on dripping out from the TCC solenoid which makes me think there is a problem with it.

Having slippage in 4th gear is another story. If fluid leakage in the TCC Lock/Unlock Solenoid is great enough to substantially reduce the hydraulic pressure to the TCC, especially in the 4th gear lock-up mode, slippage will occur.

Over time, weak engagement and slippage will probably cause permanent damage to the torque converter.

A good scan tool can detect and confirm TCC slippage by showing a RPM differential between the T/C and the drive shaft, while in the lock-up mode.
