Default 315/35/18 or 305/45/18 slick?

Does anyone know if they have a slick in one of these sizes? Im mounting them on c6 z06 wheels on my c5 z06. Iv'e found plenty of drag radials but I am not looking for a radial. My car does not hook on a radial. Thanks in advance.

If you're having that much trouble trying to hook, try a smaller diameter rim. Go 16 or 17 inch. The taller sidewall gives a lot more wrinkle.

This and you will probably have trouble fitting 305 45 18 into the wheel wells with modifying it.

I assume your talking about the track.....unless you run with the 405 boys..

If you are a stick car a slick with do a lot better for you.......and if your a auto then a DR is your best bet.

It seems....always the more side wall you can get under her the better.....regardless of compound.

LG spindles, Prostarts FLW..........

Thanks............and you understand the two tires you listed are worlds apart. What gear, weight, mods etc...etc...

My buddy tried a 305/45/18 and it didn't fit in his wheel well on a stock Z06 rim. They are 28" tall, I ran them on my 2010 camaro. I know it's a DR but height is height. And nobody makes a 18" bias-ply slick.

Yep....he correct....
That 305/45 is a huge tire. If your not running power adder I can't see you needing that tire. Will actually slow you down. Stay in the 26" range for a n/a vette. The smallest tire that hooks will be the fastest tire (within your rpm requirement). Guys are running 9's on 255's....lots of tuning and launch techniques that will help also.

Thanks........

Car has a 315/40/18 on it right now with no issues. I wasnt looking to buy and aftermarket wheel or use another wheel unless I had to. I was trying to stick to a budget for now. Car has been 11.38@135 babying it off the line and spinning 1st and 2nd with 20psi tires pressure with a Nitto NT05R radial. I like them on the strret but they arent that great for the track. LSOHOLIC yes I run with the 405 guys.

When I'm dicking around on the street looking for action I run the Hoosier 315/35R17 on this wheel......

Its a C4 Grand Sport wheel..17x11 and its light weight... and so are the Hoosiers. they are a drag radial but they wrinkle like a slick. When I'm running my Hoosiers I typically run my Greg Weld 17x4 skinnies. And of course everything is powdercoated black. Here are the skinnies.......

They match pretty good, especially when they are both black.

Good luck with your project.....

I like the setup and it might be an option.

That's exactly what I run for rears on my C5 (both the tires and te wheels) and I love them. Of course I'm also running about 450 RWHP and 3.73 gears.
