Default What Fluids Do You Use? Oil, Clutch, Trans, Diff...

I am looking into replacing all of the fluids on my 03Z. Why? Because some need to be replaced and I am the 4th owner at 23,000miles so I would like to have everything done for the peace of mind.

Which fluids do you use for...

- Oil/Filter
- Clutch/Brake Fluid
- Transmission Fluid
- Differential Fluid
- Coolant

BONUS
- Favorite alcoholic beverage

If you are road racing I would recommend Redline for all. If not, stick with GM fluids. Great for street use.

Amsoil for all fluids, even power steering.

I'm not a drinker.

Oil: Mobil 1, with a PF46 filter
Clutch and brakes both use Delco Supreme 11 brake fluid, # 12377967
Transmission: Royal Purple Max ATF (6-sp manual)
Diff: Dexron LS Gear Oil 75w-90, # 88862624, has the friction modifier already in it
Coolant: AC Delco DexCool

Recently did all my fluids so it's set for a while - it's a seasonal car so not too many miles every year. Will change oil / filter once per year and the others as per the service manual recommendation. Fluids are cheap maintenance.

Beverages? Alcoholic beverages? Don't need no stinkin' alcoholic beverages!

- Oil/Filter
I use a racing oil, but used this top tier of AMSOIL oil in my CTS-V (LS2 engine) while it was my daily driver:
AMSOIL Signature Series 100% Synthetic 5w30 (Product Code ASLQT)
I run a Wix 51042 in my Z06 at the track and think that is a good option unless you use long oil change intervals.

- Clutch/Brake Fluid
AMSOIL Series 600 DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid (Product Code BF4SN)
Dry Boiling Point - 580F, Wet Boiling Point - 410F

- Transmission Fluid
AMSOIL Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid (Product Code ATD1G)

- Differential Fluid
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 (Product Code SVGQT)

- Coolant
I use a 75% distilled water, 25% dexcool ratio at the track with one bottle of AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost (Product Code RDCBCN)

I also use:
AMSOIL P.I. Performance Improver (Product Code APICN)
AMSOIL Synthetic Power Steering Fluid (Product Code PSFCN)

I can get any of the above for forum members at my dealer wholesale price, about 25% below retail, via the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Drop me a PM if interested.

Previous owner of my 99 C5 used Mobil 1 15W-50. Needs an oil change now and am wondering if I should stay with the same weight. MOst of what I'm reading says lighter weight if not racing the car.

It's a daily driver that lives in Vegas.

15W-50 seems thick. Why such a difference between that and what GM recommends.

Thanks

40w or 50w is for race engines. Need the very high heat tolerance and the Zinc content for anti-wear.

30w is too thin for high heat uses

Other than a couple of basic upgrades (CAI), it's a standard Z5. Should I stick with the GM recommended 5W30???

Thanks

Can you also use Prestone Dot 4 for the brake fluid? I currently use Prestone Dot 4 for the clutch and would like to keep it simple and use Dot 4 for both.
