Default secondary air injection codes

I am getting a secondary air injection code , tried cleaning and lubricating , did not work , replaced both injection valves , took longer for the CEL to come back on and showed the 410 code as a pending code , what else should I look at to troubleshoot this

That code is stating that the secondary air injection system has detected no flow. Any time I have encounted this code is when the air pump is not working due to being shorted out from moisture in the system. I would power the pump and see if it is operating. Hope this helps.

Yep, unless you take the bumper off you will never know. Removed mine, that's how I know what it is.

The reality is that you really DO NOT need this part. It is an unnecessary pile of plastic and metal that does not do anything.
I had the same experience with my '98 and after replacing the pump twice ( one warranty) and both check valves at a cost of about $600 I finally found a good tuner who made some changes to my control module that set the "trigger" parameters so far out that the CEL never comes on. It does not effect performance, emmision controls, and it won't cause you to fail emmisions tests by the state. I had some other tweeks done to the AT and for $100 my car now drives like a dream and no CEL. Good Luck.

Default Secondary Ait Injection

I am having the same secondary air injection problem on my 04. Saw the post by Paul Wood about resetting parameters and also saw some info on a tsb, #01-06-04-011 which pertains to disabling the pump on certain earlire chevy models. They also state it has no emmisions consequences but there was some discussion on hesitation at load or after prolonged driving. Dealer wants $900 to replace valves. Any help?

The pupose of the Air injection system is to help your cats to light off FASTER when the car is cold started--The pump only runs briefly when 1st started--On warm starts it sometimes runs only for a few seconds but mostly not at all---
Once your cats get hot and light off you are right the AIR sytem does little to affect emmisions-- The cats can light off on their own without any air injected--Depends on the age and condition of your cats--Older cats need help sometimes to work--
LT headers can also keep your cats from lighting off because of the further back 02 locations --The Closed loop fueling gets skued away from 14.68-1 and that can affect how your cats work--

Got that. My car has 77k miles. It runs absolutely fine with no issues. Just that check engine light on which is driving me nuts. That's why I'm wondering if anyone else has used an hp tuner to reset parameters. Thanks for the help.
