Default Another track day done w/ 2nd oil cooler

So I did my second track day @ Limerock park with 2nd oil cooler installed
in line after the dewitts IOC in radiator .. Out side air temp 75-80f oil max temp 232F .. Think that is acceptable? Car performed like a champ , gotta love the LS motors ! Trans overheat temp light never came on ? running amsoil Torque Drive.. brakes held up though did smell them burning after braking hard in one turn .. have upgraded SS pistions , High temp fluid ,
SS brake lines .. Still not 100% confident in brakes but will see ..

Quite acceptable. I hit 260 on the oil temp last weekend at Shanendoah with ambient temps in the lower 80s. DRM external oil cooler.

i know i'm being the thread necromancer by posting to this, but in hopes you two are still alive and using your c5's: how did you get the oil to the cooler? did you use a sandwich adapter that sits between the filter and block, or did you relocate the filter?

I'm not part of the original discussion but I did put an oil cooler in my car for track days with very good results.
I'd be happy to send you all the info if you are interested.

You don't actually need a sandwhich plate as the LSx block has a provision just above the filter for an external adapter. On Corvettes there's a temp sensor there but on F-bodies there was just a block-off plate. There are several adapters available.

DRM makes a nice one: http://dougrippie.com/products/c5-c6...block-adapter/
As does ECS: http://www.eastcoastsupercharging.co...ategory_id=161
