Default Disabling F45 Ride Control on my 1998 C5 - How?

Can any one explain to me how to disable the Ride control as I now have Bilstein shocks and my computer will not let me exceed 80 MPH and thinks I still have the Ride Control shocks installed. Someone said this is how I can clear the codes.

Also, If I do this will anything else be reset that I would not want reset?

You'll wanna' talk to Shinobi's97. He's done extensive work in figuring out how to do this. :yesnod:

Shinobi is a buddy of mine. He took it in the dealer and have them disable it (i'm pretty sure about it). But I can ask him.

Dealership can delete the F45 option from the BCM but will not take away the "service shocks max speed 80 mph" code on the DIC. So what I did was have the dealership put back in the F45 option so that I would not get the service ride control display and I then discussed it with the tech. We looked over the schematics, the PCM sends out a signal looking for the resistance of the shocks, if it does not see it it flags it as an error.

The fix is to leave all the computer programming alone and go to Radio Shack or an electronics supply and purchase (4) 15 ohm 3 watt resistors
($3-5.00). Insert these resistors into the plugs that the old F45 shocks connected too. Shazaammm you now have made shock simulators and can run your Bilstein or any after market shocks. Make sure to leave the selector on the console to performance, if you switch it you will burn one of the resistors and get the service ride control (not really a big deal it resets when you hit the button and doesn't come back again until you restart the car). You can also just replace the resistor if you burn it accidently. I selected 2 ohms less than what the shocks read. I did this purposely so if it was too much the resistor would fry first instead of the electronics on the car. It works and you can drive over 80 mph. But you know I obey all posted speed limits.
Good Luck it will take you a whole 1/2 hour the first time to install the sims, and maybe 10 mins if there is a second time.

since my F45 shocks were blown any way I just cut the plugs off soldered the resistors in and pluged them back in to the car worked great
