Default C 5 headlight door problems

last 6 times headlights were turned on, the left side did not come up.
I turned off and on switch and it would pop up. I looked at it this am
after reading threads and same thing right side up and left side down.
except that after the right side came down a loud clicking (gear skip?)
sound came from the right side. Now neither headlights come up and I hear and feel a click on the (actuator?) **** on both motors like it's trying to engage. Thanks - all responses appreciated.

Sounds like you need to do the brass gear fix. Get a set from Rodney, it will only take a couple of hours to do both (plus overnight glue cure time). $86 for both, well worth it.

Yes, definitely do both sides. Patches came up with a good, picture-filled procedure. I did mine, last year. Brass/bronze gears should last much longer than the original gears.
