Default Turn Signal Issue

I am having a intermittent problem with the turn signals on my C5 Z06. They will stop working with no apparent reason. If I play with the emergency flasher switch by pressing it on and off they will start working again. I was told this was a common problem. Is it the flasher switch? Is there a fix short of replacing the entire switch?

Thanks for any advice,

RB

If you'll use the search function, you'll find hundreds of threads about this. Here's one below. There's another titled 18 minute flasher replacement with video of how to do it without removing dash. If this one doesn't give you what you need, do some search and reading and you'll find one that does.

The flasher for the signals and hazards is built into the hazard switch. If cycling the hell out of the hazard switch doesn't help, just order a hazard switch and install. Its easy. If you are mechanically inclined it will take at most an hour.

Here is the $9.00 version. Personally, I think this is the better way to go...bypassing the hazard switch all together.

I first tried the bypass. It does not fix inop hazards, just the turn signals. If you lost hazards also and need them for inspection, you will be replacing the hazard switch.
