Default Driver window won't roll down???

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum as well as being new to corvettes. I have always wanted one and have now purchased a really nice magnetic red coupe with 50,000 miles! I have owned it three weeks and I am loving it so far!

What I am looking for is some direction as to where to start looking for a problem with my drivers window. I pulled into Sonic today and the window would not roll down. I have not had any trouble with it before and the passenger side still works fine. Any suggestions?

For a temporary fix, try this. Turn on the key, hold down the drvrs window down switch and slam the door. Try a couple of times and see if it will free up the motor. You may have a bad relay in the door control module that can be replaced, but try this first.

Thanks for the replys!

I tried the door slamming thing and it didn't work. Also I checked rock auto and it looks like the assembly is 144.00 and is probably what I will have to do.

Next question is... is there any special tricks I need to know about getting the door panel off and the regulator assembly out?

First,, check the fuses for the dor module. Then try this: Open the door, press the window UP or down button, grab the rubber accordion tube and shake the crap out of it.

The electrical contacts in the door power plug are well known to spread apart and cause the door to loose power and not work.

Thanks for all the help!

I went ahead and ordered the regulator assembly today from reliable auto parts while I was at work. Believe it or not it started working on the way home! I guess I have for when it does quit altogether!

Just did my driver door window with a replacement assembly from Rock, price was right at 150. Whole experience was much easier than anticipated, use some patience when removing door panel.
