Default Fog lamp out

I just did some looking around and found that most on here recommend the 885 bulbs as a replacement. This is because they are 50 watt as compared to the stock 37 watt 899 bulbs correct? So basically you get brighter lights.
Is this still the preferred bulb, or are the ebay halogen things I also read about worth it? I haven't checked them out yet. Just looking for the best way to go to replace both bulbs. I also saw a thread on adjusting them, so I will do that too.
One question on the adjustment... are you trying to get the fog lamps to shine in the same area as the headlights?

I just found the OEM style #885 50 watt Halogen bulbs on ebay for $6.57 shipped. Is this a good set, or should I get the Xenon HID bulbs in 37.5 watt? They are a direct replacement i guess, and mention the 899 and 855 as number for replacement.
