Wow, is that a custom made dip stick? It almost looks like a ratch...., oh, wait. Nevermind.
I take it it's a tad nippy outside there, hence the potted plants.

I can't decide if it's a grow room that doubles as a garage or a garage doing duty as a grow room. Either way, I'm envious of the ceiling height, the lift (I think), and the chain hoist!

Time to just get the hood off was in short supply!

When I built the house in 91', I knew what it needed
It's a 2 post 9K# lift, 220V........many a car/truck has been on it

I'm looking at doing a rear main seal laying on the cold wet ground here in Houston, so seeing your setup made me buy another lottery ticket! Anyway, sir, this is your thread - have had it - help me learn!

Dude, it's winter in TX, how bad could that be? Like summer everywhere else?

Very good, point taken. I grew up in Massachusetts and I go backpacking. I have a lot of cold weather gear... but I don't like laying on my back on cold ground with that expensive gear on. Besides, cold is relative, I've been in Texas for over 30 years following military service. In any event, I'm not the topic. I want to see AllThrottle do his tear down so I can learn something. I unexpectedly took my car 'mudding' a little while ago, so I'll be driving it for awhile. I'd like to learn how to do as much engine work as possible because it's difficult to find cheap trustable shops. So let's stop the detour and return his thread to him.

for some of us less experienced guys, could you indicate what we are looking at and any issues/problems we are looking at. I think I see the crack in the runners that you speak of.
Thanks

It is obviously some sort of custom intake manifold. With a nice crack in the rear that was at one time fixed with duct tape. I see no nitrous lines in the engine bay.

The intake was rubbing on the firewall and poor welding/fab of the aluminum made the crack..........
I found the crack after we could not tune the idle worth a shiattttttttttte. Tape worked fine
No gas on this car that I know of.
Here is a link to my thread that you can hear the problem of why its in th tear down mode

Ah, I noticed the metal was rather thin where the weld broke as well. Didn't idle well? Only a small vacuum leak.
I imagine you will modify the intake so it doesn't hit.
So, did you ever fix the rotating assembly?

I have 2 other C5s to drive so.......its taken time, fixing broken Fords and what not too
No rotating fix yet, that's what I am finally getting too!
I will likely fix the intake, its cool but not the best for non FI power
Seems the longer I wait, the cheaper the fix will be
