I have heard the arguement about a clogged oil filter but in my 35+ years of working on cars I have never had one.

Thanks for the tip and pic.

I just tried ordering this stuff from Jegs today, and my total came to $70, with free shipping. Inflation I guess. Other factor was that I could not find part number 9894DBHJERL on their web site. I found the equivalent, number 799-640830 which listed for $12.

Thanks for posting this info! This will be the second time in 18 months that I'll be replacing my OPS.

If anyone is still looking for a BRASS OPS in the OEM size, take a look:

Standard Motor Products PS308T Oil Pressure Switch

Amazon.com: Standard Motor Products PS308T Oil Pressure Switch: Automotive Amazon.com: Standard Motor Products PS308T Oil Pressure Switch: Automotive

Just bought one for $30.48 shipped.

Will do.
But I am doing a sensor relocate this time. I bought the parts from Jegs, about $70 shipped.
This will be sensor #4
My last brass sensor lasted about 4 years in the stock location before starting to leak oil.........but the pressure readings were still correct.

After doing it 3 times I would do the relocate as well. What a PITA.

Excellent post with lots of great info. I would like to add what I did to EXTEND my vacuum line to make manifold reinstallation a lot easier and vacuum line connection a lot more secure.

I installed a FAST 90 intake manifold. I relocated the MAP sensor to the front of the manifold. The vacuum port that needed to use is on the side of the FAST 90 Manifold. SO, I found some old used nylon vacuum line and I purchases a vacuum line splicing kit from ADVANCE Auto. Its basically heat shrink with glue on the inside of the tube. I just added a 5" length of tubing and here is what it looks like:

If you have a need to either ELIMINATE the under the manifold steam piping OR add rear cross over steam vent piping to a 2001+ car, look at the mod in the background.

I purchased a 2001+ front crossover pipe. Flipped it so the nipple is facing aft and installed it where the 2001+ vent plugs use to be. I connected the front and rear with rubber tubing and a METAL "T" fitting. I had to massage the tubing down just a little to clear the FAST 90 Install.

I self tapped and sealed a 90 degree elbow into the back of my fast 92 which clears the firewall. From that I ran about a 3 to 5" vacuum line and have the map sensor tucked in at the rear passenger side under the fuel rail. Also ran the oil pressure sending unit extension and tucked that one on the driver side. Not pretty, but functional and highly serviceable.
