Anyone know if there is any advantage to spending an extra $10 for the aluminum cap over the plastic one?

Be a little more specific.
If you are referring to the Motive adjustable reservoir cap, with chain & turn buckle, etc...(forget it)
How about some part numbers.
Here is the unit I purchased & works quite well.
Motive Tank & (GM, C/5 specific) black plastic brake reservoir cap & part numbers.

Bumble-z, thanks for getting back to me.

I was looking at the 0108 and the 1108 units for GM cars. The 0108 has a plastic reservoir cap, while the 1108 has an aluminum one. I just didn't know when you want an aluminum one.

Does the units you speak of have the male/female fittings (seperately) as in the picture or a solid line from the Motive tank to Motive M/C cap?
I saw no difference on the Motive Site, in regards to part #'s than what I have posted.

I think it is just a solid line, but I guess I'll find out.

Depends what you're going to use it for. I have both caps and each is useful depending on what model car you're working on. Be careful with teh GM plastic cap as it can only handle so much pressure before it leaks or pops off.

I used a home made pressure bleeder and a cap from Autozone, added a gasket to eliminate leakage and flushed the whole system in 30 minutes. I would not worry about pressure, 15 psi is as much as you need to do it and push by the master cylinder piston seals in the opposite direction.
Warning do not use shop air or say goodbye to the master cylinder

I complained to Motive that no matter what i did the plactic top would always lose pressure and leak---They sent me a FREE new aluminum one--Works great !! This was a few years back--- I would complain to see it they would still send you a free one--if not it's almost a necccesity

PS: Also I use my bleeder a lot--A trick I have found is to ditch those cheesey chains and wing nut adjusters----- I use C-Clamps !! One larger older GM masters i will use 2 C clamps and on smaller older ones just one clamp---Even with the ROUND tops i use a C clamp----( Used a clamp on my 98' C5)

I have the aluminum cap and it works great. No pressure loss. I'd say it's worth the extra money.
