Default Ticking noise

my vette is making a ticking noise from the motor sound like the lifter but not sure what should I do take it to the shop hate to get stuck up at a shop so I need a general idea of what it is can anybody help or know how to fix please let me know leave in Memphis Tn need fixing please help somebody

Check to make sure its not a manifold gasket. If you have an exhaust leak it will TICK a lot.

Look around the exhaust manifold for any carbon/black marks on the head, or spark plugs etc.

Mine makes a light ticking noise about 30 seconds after cold start up. Later at full operating temp its gone. Some say they have cured it by changing the oil or changing to a different oil. Like its a lifter they get to quiet down.
