PurePower "Re-useable" oil filter, anyone using these??
I just picked up a C5 with a PurePower oil filter installed.
I'm going to replace with the tried/true AC Delco PF46
I've never seen one of these filters before. Anyone on the forum using one?

Put it on the lawn tractor. I think that's the only place I would run one. Filters are cheap...throw them away after they've filtered all the crap out of the oil.

For you "youngsters," back in the 60's, there was a company called Stilko that put out a permanent oil filter. It was an aluminum can with fins that replaced a standard oil filter. They made specific ones for the different engines. The filter was a roll of toilet paper and that was replaced at each oil change. I used it on my Ford Fairlane 500 GT; it worked fine, oil pressure was good, and the oil remained clean. When I sold the car, I forgot that I had the Stilko on and it was long gone. When I replaced that car with a Galaxie 500 XL, the Stilkos were now up to 39.95 and for that I could buy a lot of regular oil filters.
Steve - you might want to hold onto that "forever" filter as it might be a valuable relic in the future.

Dont think I like it much dont see it doing the job that it was meant to do. Looks like it would let ever little thing go thur it other than big piece,s of what ever to me.Plus I was thinking here our c5 oil filters we had to put to about 22 lbs on them. But the out side of the piece did look good. Robert

Fram actually started out with the old canister filters in the late '50's, their take on it was just a roll of toilet paper. I've heard that a Fram filter isn't much better today
That filter looks like the fuel filter from a '60's diesel truck, disc type, disposable paper type took over that market, there may be a few water separators built that way too.
