Yank 3000 ? about Lockup
If you install a different torque converter what happens to the lockup ability. I saw where you can buy a TC from SLP that has lockup ability.

As far as I know all of the converters that are made for the C5 by Yank, Pro Torque or Vigilante are lockup converters. :yesnod:

Re: Yank 3000 ? about Lockup (Buckmaster)
I have a Yank 3000 and it will lock up at 1600-1800 rpm or so in 4th gear just like stock. I found no driveability issues with my Yank 3000. In fact I think the car was easier to drive with it.

Re: Yank 3000 ? about Lockup (cjones)
Just a question, but I thought any converter would lock up at low load, but if you punched it the converter would unlock? Am I wrong? I thought the whole idea behind getting an aftermarket multi-disc t.c. was so you could lock at high loads(full throttle) and not worry about burning your stock or single disc aftermarket converter. Please enlighten me...
Thanks

Re: Yank 3000 ? about Lockup (RunNE1)
I would say most late model cars have lockup converters, that unlock at WOT if you are not in OD. However the only converter I am aware off that can be locked up in third without a lockup switch is a Vigilante 5 disk converter. Perhaps some of the other guys who are more knowledgeable will chime in.
