C5 drive train swap (C6)
Hi,
I have a long time problem with my drive train since I have changed my rear diff for a RPM 3.90. It makes a huge noise. RPM have sent another rear diff, but the noise is here again, and it seems to be the rear diff again ... Noise heard only when decelerating.
I have been proposed a full swap of my drive train (gearbox, shaft, rear end) from a Corvette C6 LS2 2006 Model with 10.000 miles (my car has 57.000 miles). Cost : 5700 USD all included.
Do you think this is a good idea?
What are the differences between the C5 drive train and the C6?
Thanks.

Never changed the gears on a rear diff in a vette, but if it's anything like most other diffs, the noise is most likely a result of the lash on the gears not being set correctly. Who installed the gears in the diff?

RPM transmission delivers the whole rear end. It is plug and play.
But my question was more about the C6LS2 drivetrain compatibility with a C5.
Are they really compatible?
Are the ratios the same?

there are some writeups about what's required to swap C6 stuff into a C5, and as for gear ratios in the transmission, it depends on your car & the donor:
C5 base = C6 base/Z06
C5 Z06 = C6 Z51
C5 base = C6 base/Z06
C5 Z06 = C6 Z51
