Euro tail lights - install problem
Anybody had any trouble hooking these up? I put them in last night and now my upper (OEM) brake lamps won't light when the brake is applied. I plugged in the harness as shown and clipped the white wire to the brake switch....upper lights work with headlights on, etc, but no brake lights. Reconnecting the white wire gets the lower (amber) lamps to light but I think that's a no-no in AZ. Also, my flashing third brake light function doesn't work now. Could it be a fuse? Could I have pulled a wire loose somewhere? any help appreciated.
if you're in central phx today...watch out for the yellow brake lights!

Re: Euro tail lights - install problem (AZ99FRC)
Please post any additional findings you have after talking to Xtreme. I have a pair on the way from them and am concerned about the issues you've encountered.

Check the wiring of the new harness and make sure all of the wires are "stripped" going into the connectors. I found this not to be the case on a friends harness. Once we "stripped" a couple of wires that were not, everything worked great.

Also, my key fob was screwed up causing the panic alarm to go off when I pushed lock and a couple of other electric gremelins. After what DTSNGIT wrote about the new harness, I just got back from under the car where I plugged in the stock harness and, sure enough, everything works again. So obviously there's some kind of short in this brand new wiring harness! Kinda ticks me off since I spent 2+ hours last evening in a hot garage trying to figure out where I'd screwed up another mod install. Good thing I was able to temporarily splice that white wire back together.
I'll call Shawn in the morning and I'm sure he'll take care of it. Whew!!!
And thanks for the tip, DTSNGIT, that's what's so great about this forum!

Re: Euro tail lights - install problem (AZ99FRC)
Just a quick update for those who asked me to post the outcome. LAPD overnighted a new harness to me and I put it in this morning before work. Everything works fine now...and the yellow lamp turn indicators do look better in person as folks have said on here. Thanks to Shawn for the prompt and always friendly customer service.
My only tip is if things don't work right after install, check the new harness first by plugging the stock one back in. And don't clip the white wire first as the instructions tell you to do but after you've installed the harness and made sure it works.

Re: Euro tail lights - install problem (AZ99FRC)
My question is that when the lights are on by themselves, only the red upper half lights up but when the brakes are applied, both the red upper and the lower amber light up. Is this normal? I always assumed that the amber, or lower half of the euro's were for the turn signals only. Any help would be appreciated.
