How loud are you guys? (for those that know their dB)
Has anybody here actually measured how loud their car is? A track near me that I have friends that frequent has a 98dB limit, and I'm pretty sure that at above 4k rpm, I'm way way over that. I think I was over that with just headers, but the track was new and they let me stay. Not so sure they'd be that generous now that they're somewhat established.
So if you know your dB, please post it here with what you have in/on your car, please.

This is a good question actually, I knew I was forgetting to do something, measure my db's lol. I'd like to find out mine before I start to quiet it down a bit.
When I have to wear my shooting "ear pro" when driving for any extended period of time (longer than 30 min), I guess that means I'm too loud....

question is at what rpm is everyone measuring? I know for at least NJ state it's supposed to be measured 20 inches from the exhaust tip and revved to 2/3 of the rev range. Highest dB reading is recorded.
I'm pretty darn sure that I am waaaaaayyyyy over the 95dB limit, however haven't gotten ticketed by a cop for it. I try to keep it civil around town. Now since you'll be at a track, civility goes out the window

Almost every track has sound limits. The more population around the track the lower the limit. Even Thunderhill, who doesn't have a neighbor for five miles, has a 103 db noise limit.

My mind has just exploded. I had literally no idea. My local track doesn't care how loud the cars are.

this track in particular is dealing with legalities of horse ranches nearby, thus the lower than normal dB limit.
