Default Need advice for more power

I have a 97 6 speed with long tubes x pipe exhaust cai and dyno tune. My next plans would be cam, heads, intake and such but I am not too familiar with what I need to do this. What would be a good setup and some different set ups people are running? I have been looking at the fast intakes but know that there are different sizes. What are my options? My car is used as a weekend car for cruising around town and trips to the shore. I do not need it to be an all out race car but want it to be quicker.

I currently have 385 hp and 333 rwhp. My goal is to get the rwhp over 400.

I am open to buying used parts if people are selling.

Sounds like you are on the right track.
For a stock cube LS1, a FAST 92 would be perfect IMO

There are tons of cam and heads options.

Personally I'd go with a custom cam from Geoff @ eps
Or Patrick G.

If off the shelf is your think, The Futral motor sports cams are great such as the F13 cam
You can look up the specs. Their cams are grounded by Cam Motion.

If being like everyone else is your thing. Texas Speed & performance will be your pick.
I'm not knocking them, I love TSP and their service. Everyone goes with them for a reason.
But there ARE other proven options out there, that not EVERY ls1 car has

As for heads. I'll go with my personal Fav.. Trick flow specialties 215 head. Expensive, but the best 346 ci head out there IMO . Tied with the F13 you'll have a 430-450 rwhp car easily IMO

The next best head is of course from TSP, the stage 2.5 LS6 head. Half the price of the TFS head, but flows incredible and is considered the best head made by GM at the time because of its capabilities when worked and ported.

Good luck!

Or, you could skip the H/C/I step, and go right to an A&A, or ECS blower kit. Very small difference in price, and an easy 500 RWHP. Nothing beats the feel of boost.

Yeah I don't disagree with you on the power I'm just afraid to fry the motor. With that kit like boost or blower, it'll be running hard all the time right? Compared to my initial way where I can baby it sometimes.

No, only when you push it.

The A&A and ECS kits use a centrifugal blower where the power builds as the RPM increases. Even the roots style blowers are bypassed when you are just cruising around.
