Default wrong way built thermostat 97-03

I haven't had mine apart yet but is there a way to modify the thermostat housing of a 97-03 corvette to make it work like the ones from the 2004 (which is the only way they ever should have made them in the first place)?

Just a replaceable thremostat or would it just be easier to buy an 04 housing and thermostat?

and here we...go...

Diameter of the T'stat is different for the 04 vs the earlier so no....

You need the newer water pump which does NOT come stock with the newer T' stat cover. If you are installing the newer pump you need to order the pump, T'stat cover and T'stat....
