Default Which MAF to replace current sassy MAF?

Let's talk MAF's for a moment. So, I'm pretty sure the granatelli MAF I have in my car is the source of my troubles. Tuners have told me the car has always been hard to tune transitions to idle. I did a head/cam/intake upgrade and the car initially started up fine then I decided to get a new air intake kit to replace my cracked one and it came with a filter that was heavily oiled. The car threw a MAF code and I cleaned/reset and I don't get codes but I've had what to me appears to be MAF like issues. I cannot find any vacuum leaks but the car has a lag when you tap the throttle not in gear. It will rev and then hang for a second before dropping down. Turning on/off the AC can wreak havoc with the idle sometimes it decides to hold at a 4500 rpm idle with the AC on for a few seconds then stalls. I have also had issues where the car either stalls or revs itself coming to a stop. I tried unplugging the MAF to see what would happen but the car wouldn't start and removing the MAF cable when running the car instantly shut off.

So this is the rough mod list:
408ci
Stock LS3 intake
LS3 heavily ported heads
Big cam 240-250 duration, .63x lift
yella terra roller rockers
90mm TPIS TB
LG long tubes & X-pipe, no cats, corsa exhaust

Previously dynoed at 520rwhp with a smaller cam/heads but with a FAST 90mm

So any way you slice I'm probably going to need a new tune so what MAF should I get? I built the H/C setup with the idea of transitioning to a FAST 102mm & 102mm TB eventually. I would kind of like to add a screen back into the mix as I think there is some turbulence with the RAM air style intake that I use.

Some options:
85mm SLP
2002 LS6 MAF + Halltech screen + adapter
90mm MAF body + LS3 maf card + adapter
100mm MAF body + maf card + adapter

It seems the granatelli sucks and it is by far the most expensive so no sense in getting another one of those.

I have a 2001 non Z06 MAF with a screen built in. Why not one of those?

I would start with a stock MAF. There are plenty of high HP cars using the stock MAF.

I have a 2000 and I don't have the original MAF. A 2000 Corvette MAF runs about $208, Z06 is $220, SLP 85mm w/adapter is $200.

Gains from a MAF may be negligible but I'm spending the money anyway so the price difference between them is so small. I don't see any gain to be had from spending more to drop from an 85mm to 75mm MAF.

you don't even need to run with the MAF. Tell your tuner to just run off the VE table. The MAF responds too slow anyway and the PCM only uses it as a back up to the VE table.

it's called a speed density tune and with that size cam it will run better
