Default Cam capable of heavy DD use?

Hey all, I have an 01 z06, and I am looking over several cams and still searching, I drive every day, in traffic, city, and highway, I also take the car for some runs every week or so. The cam I am looking for needs to be streetable and daily driveable in bumper to bumper traffic. Other than that, the only other thing that needs to be taken into consideration is valvetrain life, I dont want a cam that will eat through the valvetrain.
So in short:
-cam thats for DD
-wont be too harsh on the valvetrain.
Car has:
-Stock heads (might go with Ported heads in the future)
-stock gears,
-SLP black wing
-Longtube headers (still searching for a pair)
-fast 92
-UD pulley
The few cams I am currently looking at are:
-Futral F14
-Magic stick 3
-the comp cams 224/230 114lsa
Im not trying to make it more than it is, but basically a cam that is friendly for driving in the city/afternoon traffic (bumper to bumper here) and make around 420-430rwhp without compromising valvetrain life too much.
Thanks

katech torquer is one thought. it's an 02 z06 lobe profile with a 112LSA

drives like stock, just makes a lot more power

Ill look into it, mainly Im looking into something that produces a bit of torque that doesnt will still allow me to drive in traffic without stalling/surging, goal would be around 420-430ish if that is attainable

I have a PatG/EPS custom grind, 229/230, .60x/.60x, 111 LSA. I daily the car through traffic just fine. A lot of it is with the tune.

That said, I don't think an MS3 will be very pleasant. Of the TSP selections, I'd say the torquer v2 or 228 are much better.

i have the tsp 228R on a 114+2 grind with PRC 5.3L CNC heads. 450 at the wheels and is a pleasure to drive every single day. the stage 2 monster feels just like stock and I get no bucking at any speed in any gear.

Street Sweeper HT is definitely a great dd cam. I had it in my 04z. Makes great power, and drives very well. Also did a 230 238 EPS cam in a 01 car, great cam as well especially for its size. Drove like a much smaller cam and made very usable power.

Ive had the MS3 before, lasted a month in a car I didn't even dd. With the stock gear, it will feel extremely turdish to the newer smaller cams in a street car. They sound good, but go with the newer lobe design that wont sound so much like a sewing machine.

Id say anything in the mid 220's to high 220's on a 114LSA will be the best bet for very tame street manners, and a good 40-50whp increase.

My favorite for all around performance and is easy to tune yet meets your power goals is the 224/230 on a 113+2. On XFI lobes its easy on valvesprings with its soft initial ramp rates and takes full advantage of stock heads with .609/.612" lift and makes great power under the curve.

Currently im looking at TSP torquer 2 @ 114 and the Street sweeper HT, the only thing that im worried about is replacing springs every 20k miles with these cams, realistcally im looking for ~430RWHP,and some torque

A friend of mine with an 01 z06 put a TSP 224r cam with a 112 lsa and made 393rwhp, that's with headers and a forged bottom end too. Nice drivability but the car rocked side to side a little more than I'd like.

That cam I mentioned with BT dual springs depending on driving would easily go double that as it has lobes soft enough to work with single springs.

I have the same cam with a 113 lsa. Car has LT's, LS6 intake, ported 241 heads, 3k stall and bee hive springs. Have yet to replace the springs after 30k miles but man is it a dog around town. It made 386 to the wheels. Just getting read to pull it soon. I would sell you mine, but I don't have a ringing endorsement.

Stay away from the XER lobes with steep ramp rates

I really like my TSP 228R on 112 LSA, here's a clip.

I hear that, but everyone I talked to tells me to do a TSP for a DD cam, and I love the gains that cam produces, Is there an XFI lobe cam ( or any softer lobe cam for that matter) that has been proven to put out similar gains without being too aggressive on valvetrain?

The only solid choice from TSP IMO is the 228R. But I still like a Steet Sweeper HT from Ed Curtis better.

I had a XER 224/220 116 cam which I ran single springs for 30k miles with no valve float to 6800 and then switched to a XFI 218/230 116 and made more hp when I was only expecting it to be a wash. The XFI lobes have dedicated ramp rates for the intake and exhaust lobes, with more lift than the XER and as good area under the curve.
