I replaced the fluid in three GM vehicles (incl 2003 Z06) using the Red Line fluid
no issues after lots of miles
had previously do so in a 2000 Z28 that was autocrossed 20+ times per year
that car would boil the fluid and cavitate the pump
the Red Line fixed that
Summit will deliver that to your door

Got some Royal Purple ps fluid cause it was the only fully synthetic that I could find. It only took a half pint to get back to the full cold mark. I wonder why it was whining yesterday if it was only a half pint down. May be time for a complete replacement. I looked hard for leakage but did not find any. Thanks everybody for your posts.

The PS pumps will tend to howl if the fluid is low, especially in a hard left or right turn. As long as the noise is gone probably nothing to worry about. Due to tracking my car and the extra strain on the PS pump it grenaded two years ago. Fluid looked like black mud. Replaced pump with a Turn One remanufactured unit and completely flushed out system.

I use Mobil 1 ATF syn. I was having issues at a track day and my instructor switched it out between session and repl w/Mobil 1 ATF. No issues since and that is all I use as it is easier to get locally than the others.
