Default Power Steering Fluid

I know the owners guide says to use GM power steering fluid, but my dealers service and parts department are closed until Jan. 2. Is there a specific type I can pick up at a local auto parts store. I don't want to put anything in that will damage the car. The level is below the cool reading on the dipstick when the car is hot. Was hoping to go out tonight but I don't want to do any damage running the car with the fluid that low. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Charl

I've always used Valvoline power steering fluid without problems in all my GM vehicles.

on the valvoline website it says "Meets GM part number 1050017 (Spec. 9985010)"

Just suck out all the old fluid with an old turkey baster and replace with fresh fluid. takes 5 mins. better than topping off.

I use Mobil1 ATF synthetic. I track mine so it sees severe use. A lot of the track guys use it.
