Melting Slicks
Congrats on becoming a Corvette owner. Don't let the lug stud discourage you, these are great cars.
The studs are replaceable, the dealer may recommend replacing the entire hub and brakes depending on the mileage. Expect a $400 to $500 bill to replace the hub.

For that, you might just take it to a regular mechanic that you trust. The should be able to replace the stud for a 2-3 hours labor.

Replacing the HUB STUD is not a difficult task. You may be able to find the correct stud and nut at the autoparts store. If they dont have it, you will have to order it from the STEALERSHIP.
If its a rear wheel, you will have to remove the brake caliper and the brake rotor
The stud is pressed into the HUB ASSY. Use a drift punch and pound out the broken one. The new one will need to be pressed back into the hole.
An acceptable method to reinstall it is to install it into the hole where the old lug was removed, lube the threads on the stud, screw on the nut and use the nut to draw it into the hole. Once its seated, you are done. Reassemble and enjoy the ride!
Rear Hub with studs. You can see the back of the studs in the picture:
Front Hub with studs:
The STEALERSHIP will charge you a LOT of money for this simple job.
I agree... Find a shop that can do it if you cant do the job your self.

Thanks for the help. Due to time issues I had it replaced at the dealer. Paid $135. Seems like allot for a 4 dollar part, but at least it is fixed. Thanks again for all the info and help
