Default OBD2 reset

Cleared all my codes with a scanner after repair of my EBTCM. How long and what type of driving do I have to do before OBD2 is ready for emission testing.

I was looking for this also.

I looked in the FSM for my '99 and it only describes that a list of systems have to complete their tests, but I couldn't find what type of driving was needed to do that.

Generally, I have heard that with a variety of driving it can be reset in a short period, but unsure of how quickly. 15 minutes/miles? 30? I am not sure.

On another forum I found someone said that with 15 key cycles they would reset. His comment was that he would do that in his driveway before going to the I/M station for testing. I find no reference at all to that in the FSM, so I doubt if it works, but as easy as it is to try, I would try it to see if it works. (EDIT: I tried the 15 key cycles on my Buick and it did not work. I still doubt that it will on our C5's)

Check it with at scanner that gives the I/M status to make sure, before going for emissions testing.

Good luck.

Found this info at <http://www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html>.
Says it's for all GM vehicles. Takes you through a scenario of speeding up then coasting back down as well as running AC and rear defroster.
