My 99 frc with just a Corsa x-pipe and Corsa exhaust made 312 rwhp the only time i had it on a dyno. That was without any recent tuning or tune-up, plugs, wires ect. Everything else stock, intake thru exhaust.

I'm guessing the only 2 things that made a real difference is the headers and underdrive. Is it tuned? Mail order tune? My guess would be 330-340rwhp LS1 intake?

Bought the car this way no check engine light but not sure of the tune or tuner. Any suggestions?

Don't forget the "Egr Bypass". That makes a huge difference.

Actually, I agree with IM and hippy, 330-340 range.

Starting from a 300 RWHP baseline for the M6 and assuming good stock plugs and OEM/GM PP wires, I would estimate the following numbers:

+ 15-18 RWHP for the Vararam and Powerbridge
+ 15-20 RWP for the LP Headers & X Pipe
+ 1 RWP for the TBC Bypass
+ 3 RWP for the COBP on the Z06 mufflers (stock & Z06 mufflers are VERY baffled)
+ 2-5 RWP for the UDP (depending upon % of under drive)

Total= + 36 RWHP -- to -- + 47 RWHP.

I think adding the "X" pipe in with the TBCB and UDP gives you a different flavor to your engine mod's than what is normally seen for "bolt-on's" and everything you've done builds upon other things. It is assumed that both your engine and your drive train are in a good state of tune, as both would affect RWHP. It is also assumed that your baseline number is around what others have reported (300 RWHP).

With those variables stated, it is common for people to downplay the engine bolt-on H.P. gains for the LS1/LS6 platform that are typically available. A lot of different logic postulates are used to validate these beliefs but the truth remains that people have gotten better than the normative belief gains.

We have to remember and consider the fact that the LS1/LS6 layout that is in our Corvette was also in the Trans Am / Camaro platform and those guys do mostly drag/street racing with their rides while we tend to do more road course stuff with ours. The result is that they are way more apt to take their stuff through various engine mod stages and put them on dyno's from what I've read. That means that there is more data regarding these mod's that is available to us than what I've seen in our smaller Corvette community. The Trans Am / Camaro guys LOVE the LS1/LS6 engine and, from what I've read, they seem to find that these engines are fairly responsive to bolt-on mod's, so I wouldn't be surprised if your bolt-on's are more in the upper 30+ H.P. - to - low 40+ H.P. range than the low 30+ H.P. range.
