ACA headlight install --> high beams on when switch is on low beam setting
I am installing a set of Fleabay ACA projector headlights. No HID bulbs yet, but I am using the included wiring harnesses to bypass the stock wiring. I have everything connected, and when I switch on the headlights the high and low beams fire. When I switch to high beams, the lows turn off and the highs stay on. So essentially the high beams are on whenever the headlights are on. My quick fix is to unplug the high beam bulbs, but I need a better solution.
I tried removing everything and went back to 100% stock lighting. High beams work normally. Reinstalled the harnesses and same issue with the high beams. Anyone have this problem upon installing the ACA harnesses?

Any chance the wiring is flipped over so the left and right are backwards (flipping the connectors). Just trying to figure a way you're getting 12v to the bright pin connector when it should go to dim.

I figured out what the problem was. The wire that allows the low beams to stay on with the high beams was installed backwards (see below). I simply disconnected the wire from the high beam socket and all is well (i.e. lights function just like stock; the low beams turn off when high beams are engaged). I could reinstall the wire the other way to enable the 4-on low/high beam mod. I'll save that for another time.

That's not just a wire, that's a diode (rectifier, one way switch, etc). Allows current to flow in one direction only.

What is your initial assessment of the Ebay housings? Quality on par with higher priced versions? What are you using for bulbs right now, the factory halogens? Is it producing better lighting just having the housings?

I don't really have anything else to compare them to except for stock and the Depo exposed headlights that I ran last year. These are MUCH better quality than the Depo lights! I have 55w H11 6000k HID bulbs on order, so I am running halogen H11 bulbs that came with the lights right now. Light output is dismal, but those bulbs are just a stop-gap until my HIDs arrive. The beam pattern is much improved over the stock housing with HIDs, though, since these are true projector lenses.
