ABS warning light plus Active Handling warning light
I have a 2002 6 speed coupe I drive every day with 60,800 miles on it. Both the ABS warning light and the Active Handling System warning lights are on. The scan of the PCM shows a P1571 fault. Does this confirm the ABS module should be replaced? I got a price of $1200 for a new module. Labor to install and program the new module adds almost $800 to the cost. Pretty expensive! Have any of you replaced the ABS module?
Thanks!

Welcome to the club, I bought a 2000 in January and had the same problems, Mine was a grounding issue. Go to the top of the page and read though the sticky on electrical problems. Helped me solve my issue.

Burning Brakes
Electronic braking module.
Mine did the same. The part was 1200.00 too. Plus 200.00 for labour. But it's like brand new now. And I also found out that you can have them rebuilt. So I saved the original one..

Le Mans Master
The 2001 and later EBCMs are much more capable of being repaired. I am not at home with my FSM to see what it might be.
Clear your code from the DIC and tell us if it returns.

ABS Warning Light plus Active Handling
I have a 2003 C5 with the same problem. Here is the solution. A company called MyAirBags.com will rebuild it for $89.00 plus shipping for a total of $107.00 dollars. You will have to remove it and ship to them. FedEx cost me $26.00 dollars. The will ship it back within a few days. Pocket $1,000.00 and do it yourself. It is not that difficult. You will need a set of Torx bits. The Module on my 2003 had six screws. MyAirBags.com has videos and excellent technical support. Call 678-778-8890.
