ac vents not opening
2002 Z06 a/c vents not operating. None of the vents appear to be open. The defroster doesn't blow much air and the dash vents flow just a little. Any ideas.

When you lose vacuum to the HVAC it should divert to just blow out the defroster vents.
Vacuum issues typically appear below the battery where the tiny black plastic line goes thru the firewall. Normally failing due to battery acid.
Have you done any maintenance recently that could have affected vacuum. Something now loose at the back of the manifold?
A long shot could be the squirrel cage on the blower motor is loose.
Pull your DIC codes to see if we have any actuator issues before we go too far.
I have links I can provide for vacuum and fan motor if you end up wanting/needing them.

On my 01, it was just as dad said in his post. The little plastic line beneath the battery tray makes a 90° bend just before it enters the firewall. It might be covered up in the plastic tape wrapped around the bunch of wires that share the loom with it. Find that vacuum line before anything else, and see if that is broken.
To splice it back together, get some windshield washer hose. About two inches of it will do the trick. push both ends snug into the rubber hose and call it good. Here is my thread on this problem:
