Default ABS, Traction Control, Active handling warning light on.

These warnings came on about a month ago and went off. Last week they came on again and stayed on. I pulled the codes and it showed 28 TCS C1214, Sol Valve Relay Contact or Coil CKT open. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix? Thanks.

1214 is a sure code that your ABS/TC module has failed. If your C5 is 1997-2000, you will have to find a used module somewhere. They are getting hard to find and very expensive. If your C5 is 2001+, you can send off the module to ABSfixer. I sent mine a few months back. $150 and about a 7 day turnaround and all is well again.

It's an '01. I did a search and everything from a bad ground, loose connection and low voltage could also cause the code. So far I cleaned the ground and checked wires. It looks like it could be a knuckle busting job to remove the EBCM. What parts did you remove to get at it?

OK thanks. Before I start removing things I am going to explore all possibilities. One guy jacked the car up, wiggled the plug and it was fixed I hope it is that simple.

Why don't you send it in to be fixed for 150? A refurbished will be $$$. or fix it yourself for free...

I just read it but John at Caspers said he fixed one and can do others and a few others said they have fixed a few. So it's possible depending on what's wrong with it. I seen your post in there to just got done reading it.

Don't want to take the chance on fixing it myself. If I could get one already refurbished reasonably priced, I could get the job done in one day. Then I could get my unit refurbished and sell it or keep it as a spare.

I would not take the chance and drive it without the module.

Driving without the module installed is the same as driving it with the code. Either way your TC an AH is not working. Covering the pump and wire connector with plastic is going to keep things safe as long as you don't get crazy around water. But hey! it's ultimately your call.

I drove mine 300 miles with the module off.

Not worth it to me. Could get caught in a downpour and really mess things up. Better to leave it in the garage while it's down and drive my other vehicles.
