Changing Six Speed Manuel Transmission and Rear end Diff Fluids .... Need help on the best brand name fluid and part numbers / fluid type / How much per unit ... 2004 C5

I use Amsoil. You can go to their website and checkout the prices. Their only product I'm not completely pleased with is their DOT 4 brake fluid

Burning Brakes
When i did mine i used Vavoline Dex III (trans) and Valvoline Synth 75W90 (allready has LSD additive) For the rear end, both off the shelf at Checker/Oriley parts store. You can also use the OEM manual trans fluid from the GM dealer (iirc its synthetic), DO NOT USE DEX VI!
IIRC the trans took 4-5 qts and the rear took 2 qts

Just did this a couple of months ago. Used Amsoil in both. Severe Gear 75-90, bought 3 quarts used just over 2. Used Torque Drive ATF sold in Gallon jugs, didnt used the whole thing. Seems good so far.

another vote for amsoil... it will cost about $100 total for the gallon of atf and 2 bottles of gear oil... I have changed mine twice in the last 3 years (8k miles) and have had no issues
