Default Fuel Filter location?

Pls educate me as to the location of the fuel filter on my 99. I've misplaced my service manual dvd so I must rely on the CW of the Forum.

Tks

And in an area too small for both hands.......
follow the fuel line off of your pump (right in front of the driver rear tire) and it is sitting in the SMALL tunnel like feeder said

The ends need to be pressed in WHILE you pull the lines out of the filter. It really is a one handed job, so you will have to be REALLY patient. Watch out for gas coming out of the lines and onto you.

if you depress the schrader valve on the drivers side fuel rail, he shouldnt get much gas out.....watch that filter though

I always recommend when you work on fuel related items you disconnect the battery. Negative cable will do. Doing it outside of the garage is not a bad idea also.

Your correct that it will take the pressure off, but it will still have fuel in the line and the filter itself.

Make sure you get the correct filter for your 99. The fuel pressure regulator is in the filter. Wix is good.

I agree Wix is good, AAMOF, Delco is now getting their filters from them. I have personally seen Wix filters come straight out of an AC Delco box; that's not a bad thing though.

Btw, all filters beginning in '99 thru early 2003 model year use the same part number. Located on the left, inside, frame rail, ahead of the axle.

WIX Filters - 33737 for $45 on Amazon is what I also used. This old one came off an 02 C5 with 50K miles. My 30 min job turned into an hour when the rusted nut that holds it in broke. Had enough on the bolt to install the new one. I used a 3/8th fuel release line tool to remove the old one. Pretty straight forward. Even after releasing pressure from fuel rail, a good bit of gas is in the old filter. Watch your eyes.
